Z Energy

We began working with Shell in 2006 on a point of sale screen project. The goal was to capture the attention of the shopper at the counter and provide information on specials as well as offering news, weather and traffic information in real time from a ticker across the bottom of the screen. Over a 3 month period, FMCTV installed screens in 114 stores nationwide.

In 2010, Infratil Limited and the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation bought Shell’s retail network and Z Energy was born. We worked closely with the team at Z on a digital signage initiative for rolling out their new network of stores. Z’s pilot store was opened in early 2011 in Greenlane. FMCTV provided 4 screens for the pilot. One behind the counter showing third party advertising, one above the chillers showing beverage advertisements (video and stills), one behind the bakery acting as a coffee and food menu board and a touch screen beside the entrance offering customers access to maps, oil selectors and an opportunity to give feedback on the new stores.

FMCTV manage the entire digital signage solution for Z, providing management of all aspects of the rollout from configuration and installation to content creation and media placement.

The success of the trial was such that we are now working with Z on their entire network, currently averaging two new stores rollouts per week until the end of 2012. Z have now committed to refurbishment of 100% of their store network.

We continue to work with Z to create efficiencies within their organisations and ensure that their digital signage network continues to delivers results for their business.
